Archives for the month of: December, 2017

Even though we have just come through a month that had the hottest Thanksgiving on record my natural gas consumption for my one room heating stove doubled in November.  I’ve had the gas turned up a little and spend a lot of time standing in front of the heater but to double in one month is quite a jump.  The month of December should triple in usage as we are having cold weather for our neck of the woods.

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup mixed nuts
1 gallon whiskey

1. Put the butter and sugar in a large bowl.

2. Check the whiskey to make sure that it is of the highest quality. Pour 1 level cup and drink. Repeat.

3. Turn on the mixer.

4. Beat the butter and sugar in the bowl.

5. Check the whiskey again. Cry another tup. Or two.

6. Turn off the mixer. Break 2 legs and add to the bowl, along with the dried fruit.

7. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaters, pry it loose with a drewscriver.

8. Sample the whiskey again to check for consisticity.

Well its Saturday and my last day of pet sitting for 3 dogs and 2 cats and a yard full of plants.  Can’t say that I’ll miss it.  For sure I won’t miss cleaning up after this big guy Linus.  He is a moose, almost as big as me.  The other two are smaller dogs but just as much work and the cats give me the fidgets cuz they wan’t to stay out.  It has been a long week with twice daily trips to my sister’s house to check in on the gang.  The things we do for love and money.
