Well here I go again on one of my Hobbyhorses; this one is my Pro-Woman (but men count too) sites and I deplore Sessions so here goes from the National Partnership for Women & Families

Dear Dru,

Everything is on the line. Things are moving fast — really fast — and we must be vigilant and stand strong.

Extremist politicians are wasting no time advancing their dangerous anti-woman, anti-worker agenda:

  • Repealing the Affordable Care Act — without a replacement;
  • Defunding Planned Parenthood; and
  • Confirming the most anti-woman and anti-worker cabinet in U.S. history — many of whom haven’t completed the rigorous and absolutely critical ethics review process.Right now, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on Senator Jeff Sessions’ nomination to serve as attorney general of the United States.

    Everything about his nomination is disturbing, and anyone who takes a close look will quickly realize that Sessions poses a direct threat to women’s rights and the future of our nation’s civil rights protections.

    Tell your senators that a vote for Senator Jeff Sessions is a vote AGAINST equal rights, opportunity and justice for all »

    Simply put, Sessions is the wrong choice for attorney general.

    Just consider his record.

    He is vigorously opposed to abortion rights and has repeatedly voted against measures to protect the health, safety and economic security of America’s women and families, including the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, Paycheck Fairness Act and Violence Against Women Act.

    He called Roe v. Wade one of the most “colossally erroneous Supreme Court decisions of all time,” described the Voting Rights Act as a “piece of intrusive legislation,” and claimed the NAACP is “un-American” and “communist-inspired.”

    That’s why we must stand strong and fight back. Tell your senators to vote against Sessions’ confirmation »

    Together, we will speak out against every attempt to erode women’s rights and erase decades of hard-fought progress.

    Thanks for all that you do!
