Beware…Beware…there is HEAT out there. ~~dru~~

Katzenworld

Hi everyone,

Today we’ve got some important tips for you all from our friends over at MedicAnimal:

Hot weather and animals – keeping your pets happy and healthy this summer

As the mercury soared towards 34 degrees Celsius in the UK this week, plenty of Britons were delighted that the weather finally turned for the better. However, just as many people find the heat uncomfortable, our animals can suffer from heat and sun related issues such as dehydration and sunburn.

MedicAnimal, the UK’s leading online pet healthcare retailer, has put together some handy tips for owners to take into consideration during the hot weather.

Andrew Bucher, co-founder and Chief Veterinary Officer at MedicAnimal, commented: “With temperatures reaching 27 degrees last weekend, bookies are betting on 2016 being the hottest summer on record. While enjoying the sunshine, we must make sure that our pets are comfortable and happy too as they can…

My paws sink deep into the sands when I canter down to the beach. The breeze feels warm  and the seagulls are guarding their young in the distance.

Pearl and I nudge each other and we are off for a run.

John appears from the dunes and waves at our companion. He looks so unhappy since his dog passed away and still does the same walk each morning.

“How are you all doing today?” asks John, reaching into his pocket for biscuits. Pearl and I wag our tails and gently take the biscuits from his hand.

“We’re grand,” says our companion. “How are you?”

“I do not know what the world is coming to,” says John. “I mean, every day there is something else and the media … I mean, don’t get me going on the media.”

Pearl gets a whiff of something and starts digging in the sand.

Art by Rob Goldstein I Weep for My Country

I just saw the murder of Alton Sterling and I’m horrified.

Did two armed police officers really drag an unarmed Black man to the ground and hold him down while one of them pulls a gun and repeatedly shoots him in the chest?

Is this the United States?

What fucking decade is this?

This post was first called “A Weird Kind of Blog Party”.

There can be no party.

There can be no joy until we as a people make this right!

If seeing the connection between hate speech and the brutality of everyday life in the United States makes me politically correct then I am a fucking politically correct liberal and I am in your face and I am saying that if you are a racist get out of my government!

Get out of my country!

There can be no parties.

There can be…

This is one of many projects I’d back if I wasn’t a month behind on my mortgage and the car loan company wasn’t hounding me (those dogs) for this month’s payment.  I checked it out and the average donation is $60 per but I can’t do anything can you?  If not no worries…just view the video for the outstanding pictures you’re allowed to see.   ~~dru~~

I’ve never checked the fund raising company KickStarter out on Snopes nor done any other vetting and I’ve only once contributed $25 so I can’t really vouch for this company.  However I did buy a finished product from one of the startup companies that was funded thru this program and received the product just as advertised.  ~~dru~~

To night I’ve decided to go to the Opera!  ~~dru~~

My Fascinator Hat for the Opera by PseudoCyants

****************************************

This is the Queen of the Night’s Aria from Amadeus Milos Forman’s 1984 Film.  In this scene his mother in law becomes the evil queen of the night. The aria (Der Hölle Rache) is the 2nd Aria from Mozart’s The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflote)  It is sung in English by soprano June Anderson and acted by Milada Cechalov.

This a second You Tube offering of the same aria which is just a little more creepy to go along with the nature of the character.

AND NOW Inva Mula-Tchako performes an aria from Donnizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor (the mad scene) and ‘The Diva Dance’ song as filmed in the Fifth Element.

It looks like for the time being anyway, this is not only going to be a photo a day, but a quote a day type of blog.

Sunflowers-how I love them. And when paired with one of my all time favorite quotes-it seems to capture perfectly, why.

“How lovely yellow is! It stands for the sun.”

I think Jason is one of the most evocative of the poets that I’m following on Word Press, I never quite understand but each time I return to a poem something else occurs to me. ~~dru~~

I came upon a setting sun as he was about to set. We talked a bit about what was as we had just met. He moaned about the rising moon and how he never sees her. I wept about a fallen son and a missing mother. We held hands as we stepped upon mountains in the sky. Looking back we saw our wants, waving to say goodbye.
